Whilst the launch day of the 2024 Coffee and Crime Classic Crime Advent Calendar is not as highly anticipated as the release of Taylor Swift concert tickets or of a new iPhone, it has been encouraging to receive quite a few emails in September asking me if the advent calendars were going to be sold again this year. So, yes, I can confirm that not only will they be happening, but that you can in fact buy them as of this morning, using this link.
If you have managed to miss my previous posts on this item, you may be wondering what to expect so here is a quick summary:
Each advent calendar will contain:
- 12 Classic Crime Books (Preloved but in good condition.)
- 8 Chocolate Treats
- 4 Mystery themed gifts
Each item will have a mystery themed tag attached which shows which day it is be opened or consumed. Gift it to a friend or better still treat yourself to a Christmas of classic crime!

If you bought the calendar last year, (thanks!!), then you need not fear receiving the same gifts, as I have once again sourced new items. Etsy should notify me if you are a return customer, but if you want to be doubly sure that I have identified you as a returning customer, then let me know in the message to seller section, which should appear on the way to the checkout.
If this sounds like your dream come true, then click here for my Etsy listing.
This link also contains all the lovely reviews I have received from customers in previous years, and it has been pleasing to see that these calendars have met such approval.

The post man and other couriers have been getting their exercise this summer, as I have been hunting high and low for books in vintage and reprint editions and catering to different mystery reading tastes. Here are some of the authors in stock: Frances and Richard Lockridge, Lawrence G. Blochman, Harriet Rutland, Mary Fitt, John G. Brandon, Francis Vivian, Anthony Abbot, Michael Innes, John Appleby, Mignon G. Eberhart, Norbert Davis, Andrew Spiller, Erle Stanley Gardner, Agatha Christie (in the Fontana edition) and Freeman Wills Crofts. Obviously, there are loads more authors than that, but those were the first ones that I could see from my desk.
Important Information
This product is only available for those in the UK. Apologies to those living elsewhere, but postage costs are tea-splutteringly steep, and I was also concerned about the calendar arriving in one piece. However, my book box subscription service is available more widely.
To purchase this item at its lowest price I would recommend buying it during the first two weeks of October when the Early Bird price will be available.
Last year, due to the significant increase in volume of sales, I extended my dispatch dates, to give myself more time for putting orders together and ordering in more stock as required. This worked well, so I am doing the same again this year. The dispatch time will decrease the closer it gets to December, as the aim is always to get your calendar to you on time.
Postage
In order to keep postage costs down this item will be dispatched in two parcels. One half of the calendar will go in one package and the second half in the other.
Both parcels will be dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked 48 post. Bear this in mind when purchasing this order, as if you buy this item at the very end of November, then it may not arrive in time for 1st December. I have included a delivery upgrade (Tracked 24), which you should be able to select at checkout, but if this does not appear, then please message me before purchasing.
Food Allergies
If you have a food allergy please contact me via the button on the Etsy listing, before purchasing this item, so I can make sure I don’t send you any inappropriate chocolate treats.
You can also contact me on Etsy for any other queries relating to the product. Always happy to answer questions.
